South African-born Charlize Theron announced through her rep that she has adopted an infant.
The short statement revealed, “The actress has adopted a child. She is the proud mom of a healthy baby boy named Jackson.”
Theron, 36, ended a nine year relationship with Irish actor Stuart Townsend two years ago and has previously stated that she feels zero pressure to land a husband.
Last year she acknowledged, “Marriage was never something that was important to me.”
The actress, who holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and South Africa, has two movie projects in post-production: Snow White & the Huntsman and Prometheus. Both films are set for June 2012 release.
