The field of 25 American Idol contestants was whittled down to the Top 13 last night.
Those who made the cut included DeAndre Brackensick, 17, Hollie Cavanagh, 18, Colton Dixon, 20, Heejun Han, 22, Jermaine Jones, 25, Skylar Laine, 18.
They were joined by Joshua Ledet, 19, Shannon Magrane, 16, Phillip Phillips, 21, Jeremy Rosado, 19, Jessica Sanchez, 16, Elise Testone, 28, and Erika Van Pelt, 26.
Three of these contestants were familiar with the drill, previously making it into the Sing for Your Life round during Season 10. DeAndre, Holly and Colton capitalized on their past experience to get it right this time. Jessica appeared on the first season of America’s Got Talent.
With a strong field ranging in age from 16 to 28, we’ll be keeping our eye on the teenagers. Last season’s top two finishers were just 17 when they faced off in the finale. Scotty McCreery edged out Lauren Alaina for the win.
