Lindsay Lohan, in Manhattan this week to host Saturday Night Live, sat down with Matt Lauer for a Today Show interview.
Her last Today appearance was in 2006 and she admits she lost her way in subsequent years but is now making a course correction.
She told Lauer, “I’m learning how to live my life in a way that I’m happy. I’ve kind of just taken a step back and I need to find a balance.”
Going into the SNL gig, Lilo is concerned about alienating the judge with just weeks to go before her probation obligation is fulfilled.
She admits, “I don’t want to disrespect the judge because I want to be in the clear. I’m so close. We’ll see if we can write the sketches the right way, I want to poke fun at myself.”
Lindsay claims she is now surrounding herself with a healthier circle of friends and colleagues and can see that it is making a positive difference in the way she conducts herself.
The actress is looking forward to portraying Elizabeth Taylor in a new Lifetime biopic.
She admits, “I’m really honored. I can see where it could be scary for people to invest in me and I don’t want people to be scared anymore. I’m going to do what I’m supposed to do. I will not let anyone down — especially myself.”
