After an eight day tour of Canada, Prince William and Duchess Kate arrived on Friday afternoon for a whirlwind weekend in Los Angeles.
The couple were greeted at LAX by California Governor Jerry Brown and his wife. Her Royal Highness was wearing a pale blue Roksanda Ilincic crepe cocktail dress, and was presented with a bouquet of red, white and blue flowers by the First Lady of California, who said by way of greeting: “Welcome to America.”
Their agenda for the next three days will be to “support British interests in California through the prism of their own interests.”
After the short welcome ceremony, the Royals were whisked away to the Beverly Hilton for a reception, followed by an evening event at the Consular General’s residence in L.A.
On tap for Saturday will be a trip to Santa Barbara to take in a polo match. The celebrity couple will hand out prizes and rub elbows with the likes of Rosario Dawson, Orlando Bloom, Zoe Saldana, Alex Pettyfer and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Saturday night they will attend a BAFTA reception at the Belasco Theater. Among those on the guest list include Tom Hanks, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Barbra Streisand, Dana Delaney, and Cat Deeley.
