Katy Perry battles food poisoning …
It looks like some Midwestern concert-goers will have to find something else to do this weekend. Katy Perry was supposed to perform at Allstate Arena in Chicago on Friday, July 8, but the event has been postponed because she has fallen ill.
The singer is suffering from severe dehydration after battling food poisoning. Her Windy City fans won’t be the only ones disappointed because her Saturday performance at the Xcel Energy Center in the Twin Cities has also been canceled.
Fans are urged to hold on to their tickets as they will be honored at makeup shows. Refunds are also available at the original point of purchase. The Chicago makeup date is scheduled for August 21, and the new St. Paul, Minnesota date is August 23.
Perry released a statement to her fans: “I apologize to my fans in Chicago and the Twin Cities for not being able to perform this weekend, but I am going to return in a few weeks to give them the very best show ever!”
