Despite rumors over the past couple of days that Charlie Sheen has inked a deal for a new sitcom, it seems the actor should hold off on any celebrations.
“Charlie has inked a deal with Lionsgate Television to create and star in a new sitcom,” RadarOnline reported yesterday.
According to an insider, there was a bidding war going on for the show, with TBS as the front runner.
Not so fast, says TBS.
According to the network, “TBS is not in discussions for a possible project with Charlie Sheen,” adding that they wouldn’t return him to TV at this time.”
Meanwhile, CBS plans on killing off Sheen’s “Two and a Half Men” character by having him drive off a cliff.
CBS is hoping to bring in a new fanbase for the sitcom, by bringing Ashton Kutcher on board. The deal was signed in May, and Kutcher’s character will be revealed next season.
In other Charlie Sheen news: All three of Sheen’s live-in girlfriends have deserted the out of work actor. Apparently goddesses need to be sure of their meal tickets.
