Musician Bret Michaels had a planned surgical procedure on Monday to repair a hole in his heart — a condition that was discovered in May 2010 when he was hospitalized for a mini-stroke.
The rocker’s rep released this statement: “Bret Michaels underwent a successful heart procedure today at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. He is currently recuperating and remains in ICU for observation.”
Michaels sold a 1969 Camaro for $200K at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale on Saturday. During an interview, he said that all of the vehicle proceeds would be going to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He also mentioned that he would be heading to the hospital on Monday for surgery.
