Those who went to bed Friday night resting easy because wayward actress Lindsay Lohan was safely behind bars, will be waking up to a jolt of celebrity reality this morning. Our girl Lilo is back on the streets after a 15 hour stint in the slammer.
In the words of Whoopi Goldberg… “WHAT THE HELL ?!”
Lohan was released from the Century Regional Detention Center at 11:40 p.m. Friday night after posting $300,000 bail, according to L.A. County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore.
Legal eagle Shawn Chapman Holley got right to work after L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies handcuffed her client and led her off to jail early Friday morning. Lindsay’s lawyer filed an emergency appeal with supervising judge Patricia Schnegg, requesting that she vacate the earlier ruling by presiding Judge Elden Fox.
The ruling by Schnegg was issued shortly before 6 p.m. on September 24, stating that since Lohan’s two failed drug test infractions are misdemeanors, she is indeed entitled to bail.
Now it is back to the ankle alcohol monitor for the Mean Girls actress. She was also given a new set of guidelines that prohibit her from frequenting bars and nightclubs.
Lohan will next stand before Judge Fox on October 22, 2010 for what is likely to be an interesting grudge match.
