Actress Katherine Heigl has donated a very generous $1 million to Compassion Revolution. The organization is all about spaying and neutering your pets. The news came via a press conference in Los Angeles on Thursday.
Katherine is passionate about animals and wants to help curb the overpopulation of pets in L.A. It was for that reason that she and her mother Nancy established the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation in honor of her deceased brother.
Heigl said, “What’s happening is not only inhumane and morally reprehensible, it’s economically irresponsible. Killing is not a solution. Our goal is that people can actually go to an animal shelter and not feel this horrible sadness and burden that if they don’t take the dog home that the dog may end up dead.”
Heigl has gone back to blonde. In March, after announcing she was leaving Grey’s Anatomy for family, she was sporting a brunette look.
