Singer Melissa Etheridge filed on July 2, 2010, for a Dissolution of Domestic Partnership with the L.A. County Superior Court against her love partner Tammy Lynn Michaels, including a request for joint custody of their two children. Today Tammy Lynn filed her own set of documents, asking for full custody of the twins.
Michaels is seeking to gain full legal and physical custody of the daughter’s that she carried to full term after being impregnated by an anonymous sperm donor. Tammy is also looking for spousal support.
TMZ is reporting that Melissa’s partner appears to have made a mistake when she filed her papers — she filed for a dissolution of marriage instead of dissolution of domestic partnership. At the time of their union they did not qualify to marry.
Looks like a rocky road ahead – hopefully they can keep it civil for the sake of the kids. Photos of the twins here.
