Simon Monjack died suddenly just five months after the tragic death of his wife actress Brittany Murphy. Initial reports indicated that Monjack’s death, in May 2010, was due to cardiac arrest. The investigation is still ongoing, and now there is a mystery voice-mail that is being reviewed as a potential clue.
TMZ is reporting that investigators are checking out a strange voice-mail message that was left on Simon’s personal cell phone. The message was made on the day that he died and said, “I need to go to the hospital. I have a fever.”
Later in the same recording, his mother in-law Sharon Murphy can be heard saying, “Tell them you have a…fever.” At this point the question is… who is “them”?
It is unclear if Simon accidentally called his own voice-mail while trying to reach someone else, or if he unintentionally “pocket dialed”.
Monjack’s cause of death has not yet been released by the office of the L.A. County Coroner. You can read more on Brittany’s passing here.
