Friday will mark the first anniversary of the sudden death of Michael Jackson. It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago when we saw the nonstop news broadcasts informing us that the King of Pop had gone into cardiac arrest, and who can forget the coverage of his children holding onto each other at their father’s memorial service.
Mike’s gravesite will be open for visitation on June 25, and we are sure it will be a circus. Fans will flock to remember their king, but fans are not the only ones remembering Jackson.
With the one-year anniversary approaching, the Jackson clan seems to be cashing in on the publicity. Joe Jackson is blaming a different person for Michael’s death everyday, with lawsuits aimed in several directions. Katherine Jackson will release a book about her late son on the one-year anniversary date.
A very bizarre tribute to MJ was performed by his sister La Toya, in honor of her brother. Seeking closure, she paid a visit to her brother’s longtime pet Bubbles, the chimp that Michael had for years but parted with in 2004, when the animal became too dangerous.
On an Animal Planet special, La Toya gets extremely emotional with Bubbles. It is awkward to watch and seems like a publicity stunt, but if visiting her brother’s pet brings her closure — so be it.
