Gabourey Sidibe‘s mom, Alice Tan Ridley, had the audience on their feet last night on America’s Got Talent.
A subway performer in New York City, Ridley wowed the crowd with her rendition of Etta James’ “At Last.”
Now that her Oscar-nominated daughter has shot to fame after starring in “Precious,” Alice is pursuing her dream to become a “great singer.”
“I love to see the smiles on peoples’ faces,” she said. “This is what I’ve been pursuing all my life. Maybe this it it, from the subway to the big stage.”
