There were seven remaining contestants at the start of this week’s NBC reality show Celebrity Apprentice. Team RockSolid was down to just Curtis Stone and Bret Michaels, while Team Tenacity was still five strong with Holly Robinson Peete, Summer Sanders, Cyndi Lauper, Maria Kanellis and Sharon Osbourne.

Donald Trump took the opportunity to mix things up by pairing Sharon, Maria and Bret as the new RockSolid. Curtis joined the rest of the women on Tenacity. The most pleased by this game play change was Osbourne, who was fed up with Holly and Summer.

This week’s project had the two teams involved in creating and running a series of three workout sessions for 24 Hour Fitness and at the same time they were tasked with soliciting donations for charity. The team with the best original exercise package, as determined by the exercise franchise, would earn an additional $24,000 toward their charity total. But it was the team who ended up with the most money for charity that would win this week’s task.

Sharon Osbourne took the lead for RockSolid and the trio immediately zeroed in on the “Rockstar” workout. They created high energy cardio exercise moves that simulated things that would happen at a rock concert. They developed the ‘Tour Bus Thrust’, the ‘Back Stage Pass’, ‘Guitar Strum’, ‘Hot Bunk Thrust’, etc.

Bret Michaels worked with a designer on graphics for handout and came up with a clever Back Stage Pass hang tag as a giveaway to each workout participant.

Holly opted to lead Tenacity because fund raising is her area of expertise. The team took a literal approach to creating their 30-minute workout. Sanders, a former Olympic swimmer, and chef Stone were charged with developing the exercises, while Cyndi headed off to do something with Lady Gaga. Peete was immersed in soliciting donations and totally distanced herself from the workout piece dubbed “Buns and Guns” by Curtis.

While Holly stressed about money, and Summer stressed about getting the right exercise package put together, RockSolid was having a great time with a light-hearted approach to their project. They laughed and joked and seemed to be having a genuinely good time.

On show-and-tell day, Tenacity had only three exercise participants in the session that was observed by the 24 Hour Fitness official who would be judging their content. Throughout the morning, Holly continued to work the phone and managed to get a $50,000 donation from Ron Burkle that came in just moments before the end of the time limit.

The demonstration by RockSolid was attended by a room full of eager participants and was a huge success. The 24 Hour Fitness observer was clearly enjoying their playful take on the project, though she doubted that some of the pelvic thrusting antics could ever be utilized by the franchise.

Back in the boardroom it was determined that RockSolid won the exercise portion of the competition, giving them an extra $24K to add to their charity total for a combined $130K.

Holly blew everyone away with her fund raising efforts – their charity total was $217K. Trump announced that the sum of $347K was the largest amount ever raised for a single project in Celebrity Apprentice history.

In his normal fashion, Trump canvassed everyone regarding who should go home from RockSolid. After much back and forth he announced that he would not be sending anyone home this week because he felt both teams had done an extraordinary job with the tasks.

Viewers watch the humorous antics of Bret Michaels with particular interest this week. The musician was stricken on Thursday with a life threatening brain bleed and remains in critical condition – see latest medical update here.
