Actor-turned-White House aide Kal Penn was robbed at gunpoint in Washington, D.C. early Tuesday morning.
Around 1:20 a.m. Penn was approached by a man carrying a gun as he was walking in a D.C. neighborhood. The man reportedly took Penn’s wallet and other personal belongings.
Penn filed a police report and an investigation has been launched.
Penn left the hit television series “House” last year to work for President Obama as an Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement.. Earlier this month, the actor, who starred in the “Harold and Kumar” comedy films, announced he will leave his government job to return to his acting career.
