Every time we see Lady Gaga we are shocked. We shouldn’t be, we should expect her to be constantly outrageous, yet time and time again we can’t believe our eyes. Regardless of how you feel about Gaga and her sense of fashion, it is clear she is becoming quite the fashion icon.
We have to applaud Lady G for stepping outside of the box, but let’s be serious — her outfits have gotten her into a bit of trouble. She has suffered from the occasional “nip-slip”, and in more than one of her see-through numbers we definitely got a peek at her girlie parts. What’s the big deal? It’s not like eccentric fashion is a threat.
WRONG! Apparently one of her jaw-dropping numbers nearly got her killed! While decked out in a one-of-a-kind outfit made of black and yellow tape, along with giant blue shoes, she boarded a plane from London back to the US. All seemed well until her legs began to swell (note to self- wearing tape causes swelling). Lady Gaga was experiencing deep-vein thrombosis, which is potentially fatal.
The airline quickly advised Lady G that she was at high risk of developing DVT and needed to immediately change her outfit. Of course the Fashionista was not happy at all, especially since she was wearing the costume as a tribute to designer Alexander McQueen, who recently passed away. Gaga eventually shed the offending outfit. There is no word on what she changed into but we can certainly imagine.
