Believe it or not, Andy Dick had a warrant out for his arrest, due to the fact that he was wearing an alcohol monitoring bracelet and it tested positive for alcohol. Thanks to TMZ, Dick got off after it was proven that environmental circumstances caused the incorrect reading.
Andy has pleaded his innocence, saying that he did not have a drop to drink and that there must have been alcohol on the floor of the comedy club that he was performing at, and that it set off the monitor. If you’re thinking BS, so are we. But…the company says that it is true and because of the low reading (less than .02) this could very well be the case.
The reason for the bracelet? Andy got into a drunken fight last year at a restaurant and is on probation, which prohibits him from having any alcohol. On February 6th a judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Not meaning to get Dick out of trouble, TMZ was doing a little digging into the situation and called SCRAM, the company who monitors the device. They admitted that there had been an error and it was never corrected. Taking it one step further with their investigative reporting, TMZ called the DA who also said that the judge had rescinded his judgment due to new evidence.
