Mitch Winehouse spoke openly in an exclusive interview with News of the World about the current state of his daughter, Amy Winehouse. Feeling a loss of control and afraid that Amy will kill herself, he said:

“I want her sectioned. The situation is getting out of control. I want her off the street.”

Feeling like they need to “take the bull by the horns”, he doesn’t think 6 weeks in a controlled rehab center will have any effect on the out of control singer. What a sad day for a father or mother to have to sit back and watch their child kill herself slowly in front of the world.

Amy’s father sounds like he is going to make things happen as soon as possible. Contacting her manager, psychologist, doctor and many other avenues of help, his hope is for Amy to be somewhere safe so that she can bring no harm to herself.

Revealing that he may not be able to get his daughter to agree with what is best for her at the moment, Mitch is prepared to bring in the right people to help. Not only is she a danger to herself but to others as she proved last week when she attacked another person and was subsequently arrested and released the next day with a mere warning.

With all this being said, her father is clear on the fact that Amy has to want to help herself and that she can’t be forced into anything against her will. Good luck to Amy’s family in their fight to save their troubled child.
