Don Imus made his return to radio this morning after being fired eight months ago for a racial slur about the Rutgers women’s basketball team.

Joining Imus was comedienne Karith Foster, a black woman who will be joining him for “an ongoing discussion about race relations in this country.”

Karith Foster, who was born in Harlem but raised in upscale Plano, TX, earned a broadcast journalism degree from Stephen’s College in Missouri before studying at Oxford University and landing a reporting job at ABC.

After working on the production team at ABC’s “The View,” Foster got a taste for stand-up comedy and was soon appearing in comedy clubs in New York and LA.

The new Imus in the Morning show debuted on WABC radio in New York at 6am this morning.

“We signed for five years,” he said of his contracts with Citadel Radio, the parent of WABC, as well as with RFD-TV, which will simulcast his program. “That’s how long it’s going to take to get even with everybody.”
