There was serious monkey business at movie theaters around the country this weekend.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes easily conquered all comers at box office, garnering $54 million and earning a spot as the fifth-best August opening ever. Guess our friends at Movie Fanatic weren’t the only fans of this James Franco-anchored remake.
