Stacy Johnson-Klein, former Fresno State women’s basketball coach filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit against the school after being fired in March 2005. The jury deliberated less than 4 hours before awarding her a whopping $19 million settlement.

The situation started to deteriorate for the Fresno coach when she started advocating for gender equality on campus. When she raised allegations of gender discrimination and sexual harassment, the school turned the tables on her and began their own investigation which led to her dismissal.

This is the second sex discrimination suit against Fresno State this year. A jury awarded the school’s former volleyball coach, Lindy Vivas, nearly $6 million in July.
