Nick Lachey is a pop singer and actor who rose to fame in the late 90’s as the lead vocalist of the boy band 98 Degrees. The group, which included his brother Drew Lachey, sold over ten million records.

He also starred in the hit reality television show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. The series ran on MTV for four seasons. Lachey’s marriage to Jessica Simpson ended nearly two years ago. His current girlfriend is Vanessa Minnillo. The former Miss Teen USA had a three year on and off relationship with Derek Jeter before hooking up with Nick.

What has Nick been up to lately? He premiered a new song Ordinary Day in December on The Oprah Winfrey Show. He also appeared on NBC’s Clash of the Choirs where his choir won the four day competition and the $250,000 prize which was donated to charity.

The 34-year-old singer has signed on to host the upcoming ABC reality show High School Musical: Summer Session, costarring Zac Efron, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens. The program debuts July 20, and will air Sundays and Mondays for three weeks before settling into a Monday time slot. The winner will be named in mid-September. Open casting calls are planned in Long Beach, CA and Orlando, Florida. Contestants must be age 16 through 22. Early episodes of the show will feature the audition process.

Lachey made headlines recently for his part in an underage drinking party at the home of his friend, Matt Leinart. The Arizona Cardinal‘s quarterback brought some unwanted publicity down on himself and Lacey when photos of the party hit the internet. NFL head coach Ken Whisenhunt was apparently not amused and had a serious conversation with the football jock, reminding him of the requirements for remaining the head quarterback.

We’ve included the party photos below.
