Dancing With the Stars professional dancers Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, both from the Ukraine, have officially taken their romance to the next level. On New Year’s Eve just before midnight, Maksim proposed to Karina with a Harry Winston rock.
Smirnoff, who lived with former DWTS partner Mario Lopez for two years, started seeing Maksim shortly after the split. There have been no comments from the newly engaged couple yet on their upcoming nuptials.
Maksim joined the hit show in season 2 and Karina followed in season 3. Both dancers are expected to return for season 8.
