Cameron Douglas was arrested last week and faces methamphetamine-dealing charges. Now his girlfriend Kelly Sott has also been arrested after passing him an electric toothbrush that was filled with heroin yesterday at a federal courthouse in New York.
Douglas, the son of actor Michael Douglas, has been under house arrest at the home of his father’s wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. A security guard from a private company has been monitoring the home and overheard Douglas on the telephone, requesting that someone bring him a toothbrush, though he had been given one just a few days earlier.
A black bag of items, including the electric toothbrush, was passed to Douglas in a meeting room at the courthouse on Monday. A guard went though the contents and discovered 19 glassines containing a brownish substance that has since been identified as heroin in the battery compartment of the toothbrush.
Police arrested Kelly Sott and searched her room at the Gansevoort Hotel, where Cameron was arrested last week, and discovered additional glassines of heroin and small amounts of crystal meth and marijuana.
