Actress Cybill Shepherd‘s son Cyrus Zachariah Shepherd-Oppenheim was arrested shortly after midnight on Tuesday, January 12, for stealing. The 22-year-old is currently awaiting arraignment on misdemeanor charges of theft and receiving stolen property from passengers on United Airlines Flight 186.
The crime was reportedly committed by Zach Shepherd-Oppenheim during a flight from San Francisco to Philadelphia. He was observed taking cash, a digital camera, leather makeup case and small travel bag from two passenger’s carry-on luggage.
The suspect was apprehended at Philadelphia International Airport after a fellow passenger reported that she had seen him in the act of going through nearby carry-on luggage that didn’t belong to him.
The eyewitness told police, “One was under his seat and one was in very close proximity to him. At some point, he was able to rummage through their bags and take items.”
Zach and his twin sister Ariel Shepherd-Oppenheim were born during the marriage of Cybill Shepherd to chiropractor Bruce Oppenheim. They divorced in 1989. Cybill has another daughter, Clementine Ford.
