As we previously reported, Bret Michael’s suffered a brain hemorrhage and has been in critical condition. Now, the Rock of Love star’s father is speaking out on his son’s condition. Wally Sychak told Radaronline, “I talked to him this morning. He sounded upbeat and positive but they had him sedated, but he’s doing good. He sounded like my son.”
The rocker wound up in the hospital after experiencing an excruciating headache and was instantly hospitalized. According to our friends over at TMZ, Bret is in good spirits and has been stabilized. This does not mean Michaels is in the clear. He is being monitored very closely, the next two days are crucial to his recovery. He is believed to be hospitalized in Arizona – more medical details here.
The Poison frontman is being well taken care for. His daughters and ex-girlfriend are said to be by his side in the hospital and the family is praying for a recovery. Wally continued, “We’re all keeping our fingers crossed and saying our prayers. He just needs to be quiet now and get rested.”
UPDATE: Bret Michaels’ tour manager Janna Elias updated the musician’s website with a statement this afternoon. She said: “There are several incorrect reports on Bret’s condition. Bret’s condition remains critical at an undisclosed location. Further tests are being run and information will be updated in the coming days.”
There is also a bold type message on his website that says: BRET MICHAELS IS NOT PERSONALLY ON LINE OR ON ANY WEBSITE OR SOCIAL NETWORK. This is apparently an attempt to let his fans know that the musician is not well enough to be online and anything that is being posted and attributed to him is fraudulent.
There is a new update for Sunday – with some startling details – view the newest medical update here.
