Former NBA player Lorenzen Wright was found dead behind his apartment complex in Memphis, TN, after a 10-day search.

The body was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a wooded area on Wednesday. A 911 call placed from Wright’s cell phone at 1:00 a.m. on July 19 has been turned over to Memphis police in connection with the investigation.

34-year-old Wright was last seen on July 18 at a barbershop after visiting his ex-wife in Collierville. His mother filed a missing person’s report on Thursday, July 22.

Wright was drafted by the LA Clippers in 1996 and went on to play for the Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Grizzlies majority owner Michael Heisley issued a statement late Wednesday, saying: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Lorenzen Wright. We lost a member of the Grizzlies family. Lorenzen delighted fans on the court with his passion and off the court with his generosity in a Memphis community that watched him grow throughout his playing career …”
