Katherine Jackson has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against concert promoter Kenny Ortega and AEG Live, accusing them of failing to meet its obligation to adequately safeguard the health of her son Michael Jackson as he prepared for a series of comeback concerts in London.
The 80-year-old matriarch claims that AEG Live is liable for the actions of Dr. Conrad Murray, who was hired by them to ensure the health and safety of Jacko. The physician has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death.
The suit further alleges that Prince Michael Jackson suffered emotional distress because he was made to witness the death of his father after being summoned into the room by Murray.
The legal action, filed on behalf of Jackson’s three children, seeks unspecified damages and comes 15 months after the death of the pop artist.
