Hailey Dunn, 13, went missing from her Texas home on December 27, 2010 when she ‘reportedly’ failed to return home from a friends home.

The missing teen is a student and cheerleader at Colorado City Middle School. Her mother Billie Dunn reported her missing after she failed to return from an overnight with her girlfriend. In truth, the friend knew nothing about an alleged sleepover.

Police were unable to issue an Amber Alert for lack of evidence. Hailey’s mother and her boyfriend Shawn Adkins gave inconsistent answers when questioned and agreed to take a polygraph test — which they reportedly failed.

Police are leaving open the possibility that the young girl may be hiding out with the help of other individuals. Investigators talked to her 6th grade classmates to determine whether she may have mentioned anything to them about needing to get away from her home life.

New details have emerged regarding Hailey’s mother and her boyfriend. KTXS-12 reports that the couple held an ongoing, intense fascination with horrific films and brutal crimes. Seized in a box in their bedroom were numerous documents, some fictional and some past crimes, covering topics such as serial killers, ax murders, sexual sadistic activities, the occult, sex and death topics, motives for murder and mass murderers — including the killing of family members.

Officers also have discovered that Hailey left behind at her home: cash, a toothbrush, hairbrush, contact solution, a new MP3 player and a jacket that friends say she would not have left home without. Despite the fact that the weather was cold when the girl was supposed to have left the residence, Adkins told officers that she left without a coat.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the whereabouts of Hailey and for her safe return. Contact the Colorado City Police Department with information at 325-728-5294.
