Aaron Carter entered a Southern California treatment facility earlier this month to deal with addiction issues. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant had been working on an album and a show in Florida when he opted for a stint in rehab to get his head back in the game.
His manager Johnny Wright released this statement: “He has chosen to enter a facility where he feels he will get the guidance and cleansing he needs. He wants to heal some emotional and spiritual issues he is dealing with — which in turn will help him on the music journey he’s about to take.”
The 23-year-old is the brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. Aaron was arrested in 2008 for marijuana and got into hot water with the IRS in 2009 when it was revealed that he owed $1 million in back taxes.
