During American Idol‘s 400th episode last night, San Diego teen Jessica Sanchez wowed the judges with her Whitney Houston cover I Will Always Love You.
Jennifer Lopez characterized the performance as “just amazing” but it was Steven Tyler who was blown away by the sixteen-year-old contestant. He said, “Jessica just made 40 million people cry.” An exaggeration to be sure but we get his meaning.
Later when asked by show host Ryan Seacrest to name the top two performances of the evening, Tyler responded, “Jessica Sanchez and Jessica Sanchez.”
