One would think that Teen Mom reality celeb Amber Portwood would be doing everything in her power to stay out of prison. Not the case. On Monday the young mother failed to provide a urine sample for her mandatory drug test.
Amber was sentenced to 5 years in prison in December after a drug arrest but a sympathetic judge agreed to dismiss the whole case as long as she completed a drug program and complied with daily drug testing.
The reality star has been serving time on home detention and failed to “go” when required to do so on Monday. Fair or not, that constitutes a failed test in the eyes of the court.
Any smart person might offer, ‘Hey, I don’t have to go right now but let me grab a bottle of water and maybe you could swing back in an hour.’
Portwood will be hooking up with the judge today for her weekly progress report and it seems certain that the urine snafu earlier this week will be addressed. In a worst case scenario, the judge could decide to send her to prison to service her five year sentence.
Amber is the mother of a daughter, three-year-old Leah Leann Shirley. The baby’s daddy is Gary Shirley.
