Last night the much anticipated interview between Oprah Winfrey and Bobbi Kristina Brown aired on the OWN network.
Bobbi Kristina, 19, gave O a big hug and then remained standing while discussing the untimely passing of her mother and “best friend” Whitney Houston.
The young woman revealed that the first night she tried to stay alone at her mother’s mansion after returning to Atlanta didn’t go well and she had to leave.
She talked about what happened the next morning, “I woke up and I heard her say, ‘All right, come home now.’ And when I came back home, I felt humble, I felt okay.”
The singer’s only daughter described feeling a sense of comfort from her mother’s spirit that helped her to realize she could go on.
Bobbi Kristina told O, “I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, ‘Keep talking to me. I got you.’ She’s always with me. I can always feel her with me. She always asked me,’Do you need me?’ And I caught myself, out of nowhere, I didn’t even know I said it, I said, ‘I’ll always need you.'”
Oprah asked about the final days spent with her mother, “It was so early in the morning. I went to go get her and I said, ‘Come lay with me.’ She stayed with me all night and all day. She was just rubbing my head and holding me. I just slept in her arms.”
The teen feels compelled to carry on her mother’s legacy, “We’re going to do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing.”
A final coroner’s report has not yet been released pending the results of toxicology testing.
