Don Grady, one of Walt Disney’s original Mouseketeers, died in Los Angeles on June 27, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. He was 68.

He got an early start in show business with the help of his talent agent mother Mary Grady, who landed a coveted spot for her 11-year-old son on the popular 1950’s television mainstay The Mickey Mouse Club.

After his Disney stint Grady was cast as Robbie Douglas on the hit show My Three Sons that was broadcast on ABC from 1960-1965 and then found a new network home on CBS until 1972.

Don later embarked on a career as a recording artist, writing and producing Homegrown, an album that he released as Don Agrati on Elektra Records.

After appearing in a series of New York musicals, including Godspell, Damn Yankees, and Tom Sawyer, Grady pursued formal training in musical composition, orchestration and conducting under several renowned instructors.

The musician went on to compose music for Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando, and created the theme song for The Phil Donahue Show.

Grady is survived by his wife Ginny Lewsader. The couple wed in 1985 and had two children, Joey and Tessa.
