Actor Sylvester Stallone, who lost his 36-year-old son Sage Stallone over the weekend, is pleading with the media to end “the speculation and questionable reporting.”

Sly told TMZ, “When a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my talented son’s memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha. This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives. Sage was our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son’s memory and soul left in peace.”

An autopsy was conducted on Sunday. The LAPD Coroner’s office will not make the report public until toxicology findings are complete in 6-8 weeks.

The young man had been living the life of a recluse in recent months according to several of his colleagues, and may have been dead for several days before his body was discovered by his housekeeper. Police investigating the death scene discovered a drawer filled with prescription pill bottles.

A business associate, David Finster, responded to reports that Sage seldom left his bedroom: “You can’t make much of something like that. Creative people — and Sage was one of the most originally creative people I’ve ever met — often work best when totally alone, so they can completely concentrate.”

He continued, “I don’t think he would do anything to take his own life. But I wonder if his overall distraction could have led him to make a mistake. It’s mistakes that so often lead people taking prescription drugs to make a fatal mistake.”

Sage is survived by his father Sylvester and mother Sasha Czack, brother Seargeoh Stallone, and half-sisters Sistine, Sophia and Scarlet Stallone.
