Retired ABC newsman Sam Donaldson was arrested earlier this month in Delaware for DUI.
The 78-year-old political correspondent was pulled over around 8 pm on December 1 after leaving the road and driving on the shoulder.
Lewes Police Chief Jeff Horvath indicated the officer on scene smelled alcohol and asked Donaldson to take a field sobriety test, which he failed.
The veteran anchor was arrested and booked on suspicion of drunk driving and was later released from a nearby police station. The Virginia resident will be required to return to Delaware for a future court appearance.
Chief Horvath noted that Donaldson was cooperative during the arrest.
