Oh. My. Gosh. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am for season 3 of Game of Thrones. After hearing my brother and sister-in-law — who both fall asleep during television shows and movies, yammer on and on about HBO’s hot new fantasy series, I caved and watched the first two seasons on On Demand.

Not only did I cave, but I was hooked. I watched both seasons in a 3 day marathon.

I know this may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but let me explain something. I am not a big fan of the fantasy genre. Much to my sister’s chagrin, I just don’t “get” The Lord of the Rings. So, for me to sit still to watch two seasons of ANY show, much less a fantasy epic, is…well…epic.

In the new ‘Chaos’ promo for “Game of Thrones” season 3, Petyr Baelish, played by Aidan Gillen, is the narrator. “Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder,” he drones. “Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. Some are given a chance to climb. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.”

The series is based on the “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels by George R. R. Martin, in which seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros..

The filming for the third season began in July 2012, and wrapped in Iceland on November 24, 2012, where five of the season’s ten episodes were filmed. The production was based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Croatia, Iceland and Morocco were also named as additional filming locations.

Game of Thrones season 3 premieres on March 31, 2013. Squeeeeeeeee
