Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a heart-felt rendition of her hit song ‘Over You’ last night on ‘The Voice’ as a tribute to the residents of Moore, Oklahoma.
Throughout the poignant performance, NBC displayed a banner at the bottom of the screen that read: “To help disaster victims, please donate at redcross.org or call 1-800-HELP NOW.”
The Oklahoma native and his wife opened Tuesday’s results show with the touching duet. Afterward Shelton said, “I think ‘Over You’ was the perfect song for this situation. The moment was right. I wish things could have been different. I wouldn’t have thought about performing a song like that, but it seemed like the right thing to do.”
Blake announced that he is already working with NBC on a concert to aid tornado victims, “Hopefully, it will be something big and will raise a lot of money, and obviously it will be televised. It will happen really quickly and, hopefully, I can call in some really big favors.” As he said the last, he was pointing at his fellow coach, Usher.
