Sarah Palin will host a new outdoor series on the Sportsman Channel beginning in April 2014. The cable network is already dubbing her the “First Lady of the Outdoors.”

The series, titled ‘Amazing America With Sarah Palin,’ is being touted as an “anthology of stories that explore some of the most original, interesting, and sometimes inspiring people, places and pastimes connected to America’s outdoors lifestyle.”

She released this statement, “I’m excited to help shine a light on all the great American sportsmen and women in the country who live the outdoors lifestyle. Sportsman Channel is the leader in their industry and I am thrilled to be partnered with them on this show.”

Palin, 49, has some experience in this regard — having hosted the 2010 TLC series ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska.’ While it started out with decent ratings, it was canceled after just one season.

The Tea Party Republican is a Life Member of the National Rifle Association and interprets the Second Amendment as including the right to handgun possession and opposes bans on semi-automatic assault weapons.

She and husband Todd Palin reside in Wasilla, Alaska and have five children: sons Track and Trig, and daughters Bristol, Willow and Piper.
