‘Glee’ star Dot-Marie Jones and longtime partner Bridgett Casteen were married over the weekend at their home in Los Angeles.

The couple was joined by close friends who thought they were attending a holiday party. Guests were surprised to discover they were actually there to witness a wedding ceremony.

Dot-Marie proposed to Bridgett during the Gay Days Anaheim event held at Disneyland in October. She popped the question near Sleeping Beauty Castle on a day when 30,000 LGBT visitors flocked to the family theme park.

Bridgett shared their engagement news on Twitter, “Thank you @dotmariejones for making me the happiest woman in the world. I never thought I’d find somebody that is so loving and kind.”

Jones, 49, who plays gym teach Shannon Beiste on the Fox musical drama, shared her bliss on social media Saturday with this tweet, “So happy.”

Her partner, who promptly changed her surname to Jones on Instagram and Twitter, also expressed her joy:

It is the first marriage for Dot-Marie and the second for Bridgett, who was previously married to Jack Parham. They have two daughters.

Dot-Marie Jones is a retired athlete who set records for shot put in college and is also a 15-time world arm wrestling champion. She has been nominated for the past three years for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on ‘Glee.’
