Not everyone thinks that Woody Allen deserved a tribute at the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards. His estranged son Ronan Farrow showed his displeasure on Twitter with this frank comment:
The decidedly snarky social media posting has been re-tweeted by his actress mother and 8,600 other fans thus far. It was posted shortly after ‘Annie Hall’ actress Diane Keaton accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Award for the man she claims made her a star.
Mia Farrow and Allen ended their twelve year partnership in 1992 after she discovered a sexual relationship between the famed director and the couple’s adopted daughter Soon-Yi. A subsequent court battle ensued for custody of their other three children: Moses, Dylan and Ronan. Allen was charged in 1993 with child molestation but the “probably cause” case was dropped to spare the children from testifying.
Woody Allen, 78, and his wife Soon-Yi Previn, 43, wed in 1997 and have two adopted daughters, Bechet and Manzie.
The former ‘Peyton Place’ star, 68, remains estranged from Soon-Yi and has since adopted six other children. She became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2000 and is a high profile advocate for human rights in Africa, particularly for children’s rights.
Farrow admitted last October in a candid interview with Vanity Fair that Ronan may be the biological son of her late ex-husband, singing icon Frank Sinatra. According to Mia, while they divorced, they never really ended their physical relationship.
