Daredevil entertainer Liam Payne of One Direction fame apologized on Twitter for an image that surfaced on social media showing him standing on the edge of a 34th floor building ledge.
The photo was taken over the weekend while he was reportedly entertaining three friends who came to visit him in his hometown of Wolverhampton.
He tweeted Tuesday, “You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken.”
Payne acknowledged, “It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. I am sorry, and do not endorse any fans trying to repeat this, as it is extremely dangerous.”
The singer and the rest of his band mates filmed their latest music video for ‘Midnight Memories’ on the ledge of the Tower Bridge over the Thames River on Dec. 21.
During that particular high altitude video shoot, Liam grabbed an overhead bar and began swinging his body outward – a clear indication that he is a thrill seeker who enjoys an occasional adrenaline rush. The good news was that the group had safety tethers attached to the support beams behind them.
Several days ago Payne lamented about his lack of privacy, tweeting, “I’d like to be able to walk outside as everyone does and enjoy time with my friends, not feel bad for not wanting to pose for a picture. Sorry if I’ve been rude to anyone.”
