The Seattle Seahawks were victorious against the Broncos on Sunday with a show of total domination that turned Super Bowl XLVIII into a one-sided game.

Quarterback Russell Wilson led his underdog team to a 43-8 annihilation of Peyton Manning and his Denver team. The second year pro passed for 206 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the first African-American quarterback to win a Super Bowl since Doug Williams led the Washington Redskins to victory in 1988.

Wilson recalled something his late father would frequently tell him, “He always used to tap me and say, ‘Russ, why not you?’ So, I told the guys, ‘Why not us?'”

Coach Pete Carroll said, “We tried to do a little bit of everything, but mostly we tried to play the football that we know how to play. We got great play out of everyone.”

Named MVP was Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith, who returned an interception for a 69 yard touchdown late in the second quarter. He said afterward, “It’s unbelievable. I’m in shock. We expected a great fight from them. We kind of just dominated the game. To be in the Super Bowl and dominate the game says a lot about our group.”

Check out Smith’s new commercial that was filmed shortly after he was named MVP. As the Walt Disney theme song plays in the background, the star athlete grins as he exclaims, “I’m going to Disney World!”
