As you’ve likely heard, literally dozens of women have now accused Bill Cosby of some form of sexual misconduct.
Despite the fact that new evidence against Cosby has been surfacing on a regular basis for months now, the women in his life continue to vehemently insist he’s done nothing wrong.
First, Camille Cosby defended her husband, assuring fans that he is the comic is “the man you thought you knew.”
Then Cosby’s daughter attacked his accusers online, basically arguing that he’s a good dad, so they must be lying.
Now, Phylicia Rashad has joined the smear campaign, offering up some truly disgusting insights on the situation in a recent interview:
“Forget these women,” says Rashad, who played Claire Huxtable for eight seasons on The Cosby Show. “What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. I think it’s orchestrated. I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy.”
“Someone is determined to keep Bill Cosby off TV. And it’s worked. All his contracts have been cancelled. The Cosby Show represented America to the outside world. This was the American family. And now you’re seeing it being destroyed. Why?”
Yes, it’s important to remember that Cosby is the real victim here.
Fortunately, several Cosby accusers have responded to Rashad, pointing out that her statement reveals she’s clearly misinformed, and possibly completely morally bankrupt.
We can’t think of a more appropriate time to use the phrase: Bye, Phylicia!
