Nobody seems to know what those flying pieces caught in the light from the Twin Towers’ Tribute in Light actually were. Originally suspected as birds, the photo evidence seems to discredit any living thing theory. Could be confetti, but not only would that be more than mildly inappropriate, it looks like we also can’t fault Bloomberg for that misstep either. Judge for yourselves.
