Tidbits: Vanity in thiness, Gawker skimping
» More Ego
Jossip spent the day in the snow, which means a shortened publishing schedule for the day. But we did want to fill you in a couple items we’ve noted:
For all the attention Alex Kuczynski received for giving Viggo Mortensen a blowjob in January’s Vanity Fair, the magazine is thinner than we’ve ever seen it. We’re talking Lara Flynn Boyle here. It’s just 144 pages, which sadly means we’ve read books longer than that.
And speaking of journalism getting skimp, Choire Sicha seems to be relying entirely on jumbo-quotes for all of Gawker’s content. At the time of this writing, six of today’s 12 headlines are composed of blockquotes. There’s no snarkiness in blockquotes.
