Carrie Underwood isn’t crying a river over her split from Chace Crawford.

“We broke up over text, so it’s like ‘peace out,'” Underwood said at the taping of American Idol‘s special, Idol Gives Back, in Hollywood Sunday.

“It was completely mutual, we’re both fine,” she added, saying they “have not talked in a while, but I mean, I don’t dislike him. It’s no big deal.”

Their relationship “just didn’t work,” Carrie Underwood said, “and we both knew it didn’t work and [there are] no hard feelings at all whatsoever.”

Dating in the public eye is “difficult … because people always make a lot bigger deal of things than they actually are,” she said.

The Gossip Girl star and the American Idol champ just weren’t meant to be.

Their split, which was finalized via text message (how mature) was said to happen because of their conflicting schedules, sources have said.

“They couldn’t spend time together,” a source said. “It was hard.”

Indeed. In other news, Chace’s sister, Candice Crawford, will be competing for the title of Miss USA this spring! Woo! We hope she takes the title.
