The daughters of B.B. King are not ready to let their famous father rest in peace.
Patty King and Karen Williams, who told TMZ soon after King passed away that they did not get a chance to see their dad prior to his death, would like the demise of this blues legend to be investigated further.
They believe King was poisoned.
"I believe my father was poisoned and that he was administrated foreign substances to induce his premature death," the daughters wrote in separate but identical affidavits obtained by E! News.
As a result, the siblings have requested "a formal investigation into this matter."
Williams and King specifically allege that B.B.’s business manager, Laverne Toney, is behind the poisoning.
The sisters have clashed with Toney in the past, accusing him of abusing and stealing from their father; a judge recently threw out these claims in court.
Brent Bryson, a lawyer for B.B. King’s estate, tells reporters that the daughters’ allegations are "ridiculous."
"I hope they have a factual basis that they can demonstrate for their defamatory and libelous allegations," he said in a statement.
"This is extremely disrespectful to B.B. King. He did not want invasive medical procedures. He made the decision to return home for hospice care instead of staying in a hospital.
"These unfounded allegations have caused Mr. King to undergo an autopsy, which is exactly what he didn’t want."
King died on May 14 at his home in Las Vegas. He was 89 years old and he is scheduled to be buried in Indianola, Iowa on May 30.
