The Virginia police officer has gone crazy viral after giving a flawless rendition of Beyoncé’s “Formation” during a pep rally North Stafford High School’s pep rally in Stafford, Virginia.
According to ABC News, Diggs is engaged to a teacher at the school and was asked to dance at the event (which was held on October 14) after a previous video of him getting down to Beyonce at a police fundraiser also went public.
How does he feel about the coverage his moves has received?
"Being called a celebrity was never really the goal," Diggs told ABC News, explaining:
"I feel like I’m just a regular person trying to do some positive in the community and help inspire others to go in the right path.
"In my mind, I’m having fun with the kids and the faculty and I never thought it would take off like this."
Diggs is also a motivational speaker known in his community for tackling issues of race, sexuality and diversity.
He told ABC that he had recently received news that his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and that the response of the students to his dancing was exactly what he needed that day.
"Dealing with my mom, I was feeling down and being with the kids in the gym in was an amazing moment," he said.
Amazing all around.
