The Voice saw more memorable battles on Monday night as the competitors continued to try to distance themselves from the pretenders.
Who would advance, go home, or be stolen?
Team Adam Levine got the night going with a performance from Johnny Rez and returning contestant Nolan Neal, dueling on “Sledgehammer.”
After a tough deliberation, he went with Nolan.
Next up were Darby Walker and Karlee Metzger from Miley Cyrus’ team, with adviser Joan Jett counseling them on “Brand New Key."
They both excelled, but Miles took Darby.
Karlee was thrown a lifeline quickly by Blake, for his first steal of the night, before Shelton artists Blaine Long and Josh Gallagher battled.
Their duet of “Stranger In My House” by Ronnie Milsap was a winner, and left Blake with a tough call, and ultimately, he picked Josh.
Blake also paired Dana Harper and Tarra Layne, ultimately going with Dana to move on to the next round of the competition, the Knockouts.
Alicia Keys matched up Belle Jewel and Halle Tomlinson, with Belle winning, while Simone Gundy bested JSoul to remain on Adam’s team.
Josh Halverson and Kylie Rothfield from Team Alicia were next up, singing their hearts out to perfection on “House Of The Rising Sun.”
Who would prevail?!
Kylie, who went to school with her team’s adviser, Charlie Puth, got the nod, while Miley pushed her button with her tongue to steal Josh.
Blake’s aspiring stars Christian Fermin and Gabe Broussard, with a duet of Hoobastank’s “The Reason” in which Gabe emerged victorious.
The final battle of the night?
Team Miley’s Aaron Gibson and Sa’Rayah, who turned in perhaps the best duet of the day with “I’ll Take Care Of You." The winner?
Aaron … but with Blake and Alicia both moving in fast on Sa’Rayah, Miley might have been second guessing whether she made the right call!
Ultimately, Keys is her new coach.
